Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau (LA)

Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau (LA) as independent institution under the Ministry of Public Administration Reforms and Local Authorities was established in 1 January 1998.  Now LA operates under the Ministry of Economy and Inovations.

The mission of LA is to perform functions of national accreditation body in the Republic of Lithuania, to improve and develop accreditation system in accordance with the European Union’s regulations and international standards.

LA operates accreditation programs covering testing laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 15189), calibration laboratories, inspection bodies, managements system certification bodies, product certification bodies and certification bodies of persons in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17011:2017. LA is also responsible for the accreditation of environmental verifiers according to the requirements of the Regulation (EC) No 1221/2009 and is designated as GLP compliance monitoring authority. LA, as a national accreditation body in the Republic of Lithuania, offers accreditation services to conformity assessment bodies established in Lithuania only.
